How to Check Whether a sinabuy Spreadsheet Is Still Current

An update date is useful context, but it is not enough. Test a small sample of rows and record whether the destination, item identity, visible options, and evidence still match.

What “current” should mean in practice

A current row should still lead to the item it describes, with recognizable options and enough visible information to continue the comparison. A recent year in the title does not show that anyone checked the individual links.

The audit below looks for four things: whether the destination still matches, whether maintenance is documented, whether dates have useful context, and whether repeated rows exaggerate the amount of choice.

Freshness is about row accuracy, not a year in the title

A spreadsheet can keep the same title while the linked page changes, disappears, redirects, or begins showing a different item. Price, options, images, and shipping context can also move independently. For that reason, “2026,” “new,” or “updated” should be treated as a claim to test rather than proof.

The practical question is narrower: Does a useful sample of rows still describe what opens today? You do not need to audit the entire sheet before deciding whether it deserves more time.

The 10-row freshness audit

  1. Choose a mixed sample. Take three rows near the top, four from the middle, and three near the bottom. Avoid selecting only featured or familiar items.
  2. Write the expected identity. Record the category, basic item description, visible option, and any detail that should survive the click.
  3. Open one destination at a time. Confirm the domain and compare the current page with the row. Do not enter account or payment information for this audit.
  4. Assign one result. Use matched, changed, missing, or duplicate. A redirect is not automatically a failure if the final page still clearly matches.
  5. Count patterns, not just failures. Several changed rows in one section may point to an old block. Duplicates across the sample may show that the apparent variety is overstated.

A useful audit note

“10 rows checked on the current date: 6 matched, 2 changed item identity, 1 destination missing, 1 duplicate. Use only the matched rows and re-check the rest before saving.”

Strong and weak freshness signals

SignalWhat it can tell youWhat it cannot prove
Visible last-updated dateThe publisher intended to record a maintenance point. That every row was checked on that date.
Current destination matches the rowThe sampled row still has basic link relevance.Seller quality, availability, or transaction outcome.
Options and measurements are visibleThe page currently exposes decision-relevant detail. That the item will remain unchanged later.
Working thumbnailAn image asset still loads. That the link, item, option, or photo set matches.
Popularity or “hot” labelThe publisher chose to highlight the row.Freshness, uniqueness, quality, or safety.

Check internal and cross-sheet duplicates differently

Internal duplicates appear more than once inside the same sheet. They can inflate the sense of choice and make comparison slower. Look for identical destination URLs first, then repeated images or descriptions with slightly different labels.

Cross-sheet duplicates appear across different collections. They are not automatically bad: the same item may be relevant to more than one theme. The problem begins when repeated rows are presented as new discoveries without added context.

When two rows point to the same destination, keep the version with clearer measurements, better photo context, a useful category, or a more recent documented check. Remove the extra row unless it contributes something specific.

Decide how the spreadsheet should be used

Use as a working shortlist source

Most sampled rows still match, the categories are consistent, duplicates are limited, and the surviving rows contain enough detail for a careful comparison.

Use as inspiration only

Several destinations changed, evidence is thin, dates are unclear, or duplicates make the apparent selection unreliable. Rebuild the shortlist from current category searches instead.

Fresh does not mean verified

A current-looking row can still be incomplete or misleading. Freshness tells you whether the row is worth researching now; it does not verify the item, seller, price, quality, shipping, refund, or payment claim.

What to do with the rows that survive

Move the matched rows into one product category, then compare them using the same evidence fields. Read the row comparison guide if there are still too many choices, or the QC photo guide if images are the main deciding evidence.
